South Korea’s Giant Robot

Robot Taekwon V (로보트 태권 V) (known in the US as Voltar the Invincible) is a South Korean animated film directed by Kim Cheong-gi and produced by Yu Hyun-mok, the prominent director of such films as Obaltan (오발탄) (Aimless Bullet) (1960). It was released on July 24, 1976, immediately becoming a mega-smashed hit in the late 1970s, and consequently inspired a string of sequels in followng years. Robot Taekwon V was released in the United States in a dubbed format under the name Voltar the Invincible. Robot Taekwon V became the first Korean film to receive full digital restoration treatment in 2005. In Japan, it is known as a plagiarism of Mazinger Z.

The show achieved great popularity and today Robot Taekwon V is present in Korean culture as a full-size sculpture, on ads and in various remade forms. The live action movie was expected to released in 2009, but now you can only find a poster image at its official website.

Gatchaman ガッチャマン Earliest Teaser

Thanks for Philip found this really old old Gatchaman teaser on internet, I have no idea how this teaser went to internet, anyway I am glad that friends can see this. This teaser was made in 2006 fall for internal and marketing and which was inspired a lot from NTT Gatchaman CM. As I remember, we never shown on interent. This is not the final final version, the final one with all the Tag Graphic on top of each Gatchaman close up shot.

The character's face looks little over western cartoony which I don't like, and the bird suit design is too bulky... but I like the tone and motion style. That was really good start at that time. The Teaser was directed by Kevin Munroe, Story boraded by Sean, CG production by D-team.
Above are some of my favorite shots.

This Gatchaman Bird-suit Design by Patrick and Todd is still my favorite.
